Crash victims fighting for life

Two people including a child are fighting for their lives following a crash that killed three people.

Three other casualties were also in a serious condition in hospital following the smash on the A1307 at Linton, near Cambridge, on Saturday afternoon.

Police said two of the dead were children and revealed a third child was fighting for life.

The crash, involving Peugeot and Volkswagen cars, closed the road for about seven hours.

A Suffolk police spokesman said: "We understand one adult and two children were pronounced dead at the scene.

"A third child was taken to hospital in a most serious condition and there was concern that the child might not survive."

An investigation has been launched into the cause of the incident.

Meanwhile, a six-year-old child was in a critical condition following a collision with a Mini Cooper car at 9.30pm on Saturday in Worlingham, Suffolk.
