TV star Myleene Klass has been chosen to host the Classical Brit Awards.

The former Hear'Say singer has called her new job a "personal highlight" of her career.

"The Classical Brits is the biggest event in the classical calendar. To be the host is a personal highlight in my career" - Myleene Klass

Klass already has a list of impressive credentials as a chart-topping classically trained pianist, model, TV presenter and as a presenter of her own radio show on Classic FM.

The 29-year-old said: "The Classical Brits is the biggest event in the classical calendar. To be the host is a personal highlight in my career."

"I'm really looking forward to presenting a ceremony that is so close to my heart and I'm sure it will be a magical evening."

The ceremony will take place at London's Royal Albert Hall on May 8.

Myleene's latest album, Music For Mothers, has topped the classical compilation chart.
