Stars to attend UK premiere of Speed Racer
Top Hollywood stars will attend the UK premiere of family adventure Speed Racer.
The film marks the first writing/directing collaboration for brothers Larry and Andy Wachowski since The Matrix movies, teaming up again with producer Joel Silver.
Speed Racer is played by Emile Hirsch who previously starred in the film Into The Wild directed by Sean Penn.
Susan Sarandon, Christina Ricci, John Goodman, Lost star Matthew Fox also appear in the film.
The high-octane film is a live action adaptation of a 1960s Japanese cartoon series, created by Tatsuo Yoshida.
The original cartoon was born from a Japanese comic book series called Pilot Ace.
In 1967 it evolved into a Japanese television show called Mach Go Go Go, followed by the English-dubbed American adaptation.
The film opens nationwide on May 9.
