For those looking for a Christmas tale with a difference, a new play by Amy Winehouse's big brother could be just the ticket.

Alex Winehouse has penned a children's production called Who Stole Santa Claus?, which takes a darker approach than your average festive fare.

"It's about three evil, nasty, creepy ghosts who are intent on taking over the world" - Alex Winehouse

He said: "It's about three evil, nasty, creepy ghosts who are intent on taking over the world.

He added: "And so to do this they kidnap Santa Claus, and in his place climb down chimneys of the houses where the kids are sleeping, and they take the kids as they sleep and turn them into little demonic helpers in their endeavours to indeed take over the world."

Alex is confident his little sister Amy will be there to support him: "She will definitely be there. I'll drag her if I have to."

The musical opens at County Hall near the London Eye on November 24.
