Lebanon bomb kills UN peacekeepers
An explosive device has killed at least five soldiers working for the United Nations in Lebanon.
The Unifil peacekeepers were on patrol near the south-eastern town of Khiyam when the explosion hit their vehicles, security sources said.
Spain's defence minister said two Spanish and three Colombian peacekeepers had been killed in the blast. Earlier Lebanese security sources had said five Spaniards were killed.
One UN armoured troop carrier was completely burned and another vehicle was badly damaged in the explosion.
There was no immediate claim for the attack.
It was the first deadly attack on the UN peacekeeping force since it increased its presence after last year's war between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah.
