Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann dropped his second clanger of the season as the Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw at Blackburn.

The Germany goalkeeper allowed a David Dunn shot to slip through his fingers, costing Arsenal two points days after he gifted Fulham a goal with a poor clearance.

Dunn's long-range shot should have produced a comfortable save as the ball was travelling straight at Lehamnn, but it slipped through his hands in slippery conditions.

Robin van Persie put the Gunners ahead, pouncing on some poor defending to fire home.

Brad Friedel saved a shot from Eduardo, then Dunn and Ryan Nelsen missed chances to clear and van Persie steered the ball home.

Blackburn finished the game with ten men as Nelsen was sent off six minutes from time for a second bookable offence, fouling van Persie.

Arsenal defender William Gallas limped off midway through the first half and was replaced by Philippe Senderos.

The Gunners made a winning start to the season last weekend by beating Fulham 2-1 and they beat Sparta Prague in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier on Wednesday.
