The first winner of The Apprentice has launched a fund aimed at giving millions of pounds to budding entrepreneurs.

Tim Campbell, who left his £100,000-a-year job with Sir Alan Sugar last month, unveiled his latest project entitled The Bright Ideas Trust, at the Chamber of Commerce in central London.

Apprentice winner Tim Campbell hopes his new venture will become the world's biggest fund-raising organisation for entrepreneurs

The one-time train ticket collector hopes it will grow to become the world's biggest fund-raising organisation for entrepreneurs and initially plans to run it on donations from other businesses.

At the press conference this morning - where he was joined by Conservative leader David Cameron - he said his former mentor was definitely on his hit list for contributions.

Mr Campbell said: "I have already spoken to Sir Alan about it and he has wished me the best of luck. When we have got the structure in place and can secure the actual financing from people, I will be knocking on his door."
