Ronaldinho has proved money does not always talk in football by agreeing to join Milan rather than Manchester City.

The Brazil superstar has turned down a £3 million bonus to join the Italian giants, where he will earn half the salary City had offered.

"The player will be in Milan to undergo the medical examinations and sign the contract" - Milan statement

Barcelona recently confirmed they had received a bid of around £25 million for their former world player of the year, while Milan had offered around £12 million.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani also claimed City had offered Ronaldinho twice as much money as the Italian giants.

The clubs thrashed out a deal when Milan increased their offer to £20 million, with Ronaldinho waiving his rights to 15 per cent of the transfer fee.

A Milan statement read: "AC Milan and FC Barcelona have reached a principle agreement for the transfer of Ronaldinho to the Rossoneri. The player will be in Milan to undergo the medical examinations and sign the contract that will bind him to Milan until June 30, 2011."
