Roger Federer beat nemesis Rafael Nadal 6-4 6-1 to book his place in the final of the Masters Cup.

The world number one needed just 59 minutes to see off Nadal in Shanghai.

Having beaten Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer will now be looking to get the better of another Spaniard, David Ferrer in the Masters Cup final in Shanghai

And he will now be looking to get the better of another Spaniard, David Ferrer, as he bids to win the prestigious end-of-season tournament for the fourth time in five years.

Federer, who has won 12 Grand Slam titles to date, said after dispatching world number two Nadal: "It was one of those nights. I wish I could play like that against him every time. I got in the zone and played incredibly."

Ferrer, who is ranked sixth in the world, booked his place in the showpiece final with a 6-1 6-3 win over Andy Roddick.

And he has admitted that in addition to not being "the favourite for the final", he is "not on the same level as Federer".
