Ryanair flight comes off runway

An investigation has been launched after a Ryanair flight bound for Nottingham came off the runway at a Polish airport.

Flight FR1624, which was carrying 170 passengers, ran aground and got stuck in a runoff area before take off.

They were then taken by buses to Warsaw where they took a flight back to the UK in a replacement aircraft.

Polish and Irish aviation authorities are investigating the incident, the second at a Polish airport in the past three weeks.

A plane operated by a low-cost airline Centralwings, heading for Edinburgh, turned back shortly after take off to make an emergency landing at Warsaw Airport after concerns about its landing gear on April 10.
