
Glasgow is UK's most mortgaged city

Glasgow residents owe the highest percentage in the UK of their home value to the bank.
The average home in Glasgow is mortgaged to 94.5%, and Motherwell is the most mortgaged town with up to 95% of property value still owed to the bank.
Woolwich in south east London is England's most mortgaged area, with homes mortgaged up to 91%

Birmingham and Nottingham have similarly high ratios.
Experts claim the figures are leaving many home owners vulnerable to negative equity.
