Sharapova claims semi-final spot
Maria Sharapova ended Justine Henin's 33-match winning streak to clinch a place in the semi-finals of the Australian Open for the fourth year in a row.
Sharapova did not seem fazed by Henin's recent good form as she clinched a 6-4 6-0 victory.
Sharapova said: "I really felt like I was in my own bubble today. I wasn't thinking about her record and how many matches she has won."
Sharapova will face Serbia's Jelena Jankovic in the semi-final and the match will bring back memories of their days together at the Nick Bollettieri Academy in Florida.
Sharapova added: "We kind of grew up together, practising at the same academy.
"We always played junior matches against each other and it was always our dream to play against each other in a Grand Slam."
