A huge piece of graffiti has been unveiled by artists in Belgium.

The series of pictures, drawn by thirty people, show an imaginary world populated by children, robots, and dragons, and a place in which bullet trains speed through futuristic landscapes.

"There is still much to achieve in the medium" - Gaetan Tarantino

Organisers say the project is also a way to increase the standing of graffiti artists in the city and allow them to paint without any fear of being arrested.

Local artists have been joined by kindred spirits from both France and England and those involved hope their mural will soon become the largest in Europe.

Gaetan Tarantino said: "We decided to focus on graffiti, because there's still much to achieve in the medium.

"After all, there's not much left to do for rappers, break dancers or jugglers. The people involved in our work have been painting for at least ten years and many of them have been arrested several times by the cops and frankly are now sick of that hassle and want to paint legally."
