Potter's Lavender Brown revealed
The girl who beat thousands of hopefuls to land the part of Ron Weasley's girlfriend in the new Harry Potter film has been revealed.
Jessie Cave, an established actress, will play Lavender Brown in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
The 20-year-old is also set to appear in a new children's drama and on the big screen in forthcoming film Inkheart opposite Dame Helen Mirren.
Lavender, a fellow pupil at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, kisses Ron constantly and calls him "Won Won" - much to his dismay - while he secretly pines for Hermione Granger.
Producers described her as "a pretty and lively girl who loves to be the centre of attention".
The news is set to disappoint some 7,000 hopefuls who auditioned after the casting stated no acting experience was necessary.
Cave is also two years older than the maximum age stipulated at the London audition in July. Her agent did not comment.
Open auditions were also held for the character of Tom Riddle, who goes on to become the evil Voldemort. The winner of that role has yet to be announced.
