McFadden linked with Celtic move
Everton are set to offer James McFadden a new contract in the wake of reports linking him with a possible move to Celtic in the New Year.
Reports had claimed that the 24-year-old Scotland frontman could be targeted by the Scottish champions when the transfer window reopens in January.
It is thought McFadden is valued at least £4 million by the Merseysiders and would require wages of around £20,000 a week.
However, the Everton striker's representative Willie McKay has been quoted as saying: "James is under contract at Everton and he is only thinking of Everton.
"In fact I believe David Moyes is ready to offer him a new contract to keep him at Goodison."
While McFadden has scored vital goals to keep Scotland on course for next summer's European Championship finals in Austria and Switzerland, he has struggled to become a regular in David Moyes' first-team starting XI.
Despite his sporadic appearances, McFadden has still scored four times for the Blues to date this season - a total bettered only by defender Joleon Lescott.
