An eco friendly tent aimed at improving the British festival experience is set to debut this summer.

Seasoned observers say the age of festival-goers is increasing, and many are keen to be green while also staying clean and dry.

James Dunlop, 24, is seeking to tap into that market with the myhab - a waterproof shelter made from recycled plastic and cardboard.

At a cost of £240 for two people, customers will be able to rent a ready-made tent in a myhab village, with exclusive access to showers and toilets.

Mr Dunlop said the cost of production - all of which is carried out in the UK - is high, but there is clearly a demand for the product, and sales are going well.

He said: "It enhances the festival experience because what we are doing is creating a hassle free service where people don't have to worry about forgetting the mallets or how to set up a tent."
