Jingle Cats are coming to town
A DVD featuring a group of cats meowing along to Christmas songs has been released just in time for this year's festivities.
The 40 minute video compilation stars a group called Jingle Cats and their backing singers, the Jingle Dogs.
The idea was conceived by American Mike Spalla in the 1990s.
He said: "The Jingle Cats started as a little joke idea when someone wanted me to do a recording of 'Jingle Bells' and I brought my cat into the studio just for fun and he ran into the recording booth and started meowing at me."
Fourteen years later Mr Spalla has reconvened the cats and their canine friends to release another DVD - Jingle Cats Christmas 2007.
It features classics such as Jingle Bells, Silent Night, and Tchaikovsky's Dance of the Sugarplum Fairies.
One of the songs, Jingle Cats Medley, even featured on the holiday film Fred Claus.
Jingle Cats previous releases include Here Comes Santa Claws (1994) and Rhythm and Mews (2002), with album sales hitting 2 million worldwide.
