Carrick extends United contract
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has signed a four-year contract with the club.
The England international joined the club from Spurs in 2006 and he has since helped the team win the Premier League twice and reach this season's Champions League final.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: "Michael has been outstanding since joining us from Tottenham and it is great to know he will be a part of this squad for many years to come."
Carrick is the second United regular to sign an extended contract this month.
Rio Ferdinand agreed a five-year deal that will keep him at the club until he is 34.
Carrick said: "Manchester United is a fantastic club and it is a pleasure to be part of this great squad. I believe this team will be together for many years to come."
