Michael honoured by Wembley bow
George Michael said it was an "amazing honour" as he became the first pop star to perform a gig at the new Wembley Stadium.
The singer, who was banned from driving for two years on Friday, played hits from his Wham! days and solo career to thousands of fans.
He began his performance with the hits Fastlove and Too Funky and thanked fans "for these 25 long years", adding: "I have the best, most patient fans in the world."
The gig was the first of two nights at Wembley as part of his 25 Live 2007 Stadium Tour. They come immediately after Michael's appearance at Brent Magistrates' Court in north London on Friday.
As well as a two year driving ban, the star was also sentenced to 100 hours community service for driving while unfit.
Michael appeared at the old Wembley Stadium several times including at Live Aid in 1985 and for Wham!'s farewell gig in 1986.
