Bowyer red card is overturned
West Ham midfielder Lee Bowyer has escaped a ban for being sent off in the 1-1 draw with Birmingham.
Bowyer was shown a straight red card for a tackle he made on Damien Johnson and he would have been suspended for three games if the decision was upheld.
But West Ham lodged a complaint with the FA, who agreed to overturn the automatic ban after reviewing video evidence.
The decision to overturn Bowyer's red card will come as a relief to West Ham manager Alan Curbishley.
The midfielder will now be available for Premier League games against Fulham, Chelsea and Liverpool.
West Ham currently have midfielders Nolberto Solano, Scott Parker, Kieron Dyer and Nigel Quashie ruled out through injury.
