At least 22 people have been killed and 17 others are missing after a blaze tore through a South Korean warehouse.

The blaze at Icheon, about 40 miles southeast of the capital, Seoul, led to several explosions at the plant for frozen and refrigerated goods which was under construction.

Firefighters rescued ten people who were taken to hospital.

However, thick smoke hapmpered the search for other victims, officials said.

Local media reported that over 250 firefighters have been dispatched.

The cause of the blaze is unknown.
