Dalai Lama shows support for Olympics
The Dalai Lama insists he is happy for Beijing to stage the Olympics.
The spritual leader of Tibet has distanced himself from the disruptive protesters that have tried to stop the progress of the Olympic torch.
While there have been demonstrations against China's human rights record and the treatment of Tibet, the Dalai Lama and the region's exiled government have shown support for the Games.
The Dalai Lama said: "I support China hosting the most famous world games."
Some have blamed Tibetan officials for the demonstrations, but Samdhong Rinpoche, prime minister of the government-in-exile, insists they have not encouraged any disruption.
He said: "The Tibet government and many people of Tibet are not trying to stop the torch. The Dalai Lama is supporting the Olympics."
