Scolari convinced Ronaldo to leave United
Cristiano Ronaldo admitted Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has persuaded him to chase a move to Real Madrid.
Scolari gave Ronaldo advice while they were working together for Portugal at Euro 2008.
Now Scolari is taking the reins at Chelsea and Ronaldo has confirmed he would like to leave Manchester United and join Real.
Ronaldo said: "It is a dream, a step forward, you can call it what you want.
"For me it is a great opportunity and as Scolari says, that train passes by only once and we have to take advantage of it.
"That is why he took advantage of his change. Other people have to take advantage of opportunities too."
Ronaldo's comments are expected to upset Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, especially as a rival manager has clearly helped to influence his star player.
Ronaldo added: "It is my opinion. That is why I don't mind if people get upset.
"It is my decision. It is what I want. I don't know what I have to say to him. I have to say what I want and what I think."
