Special trousers polish Kiwis' balls
New Zealand's seam bowlers have been using special trousers to improve their swing bowling.
Reports claim the players will start using 'micro-shine' whites in October, which have a special patch to help players shine one side of the ball.
There are no regulations about the materials players can wear during matches, although the man who designed the Kiwis' trousers admits it would be against the spirit of the game to add an abrasive strip to scuff the other side of the ball.
It's claimed the New Zealand bowlers were so impressed with the trousers in practice they have already used them in the current Test series against England.
It is not clear which players may have used the trousers as England won the second Test at Old Trafford.
But seamers Chris Martin, Iain O'Brien and Kyle Mills only took seven wickets between them while the spinner Daniel Vettori claimed six on his own.
