Sharapova leads Russian charge

Maria Sharapova is through to the last 16 at the French Open after a straight-sets victory over Karin Knapp.

Sharapova came through a first-set tie-break then broke Knapp's serve three times to win 7-6 6-0.

In the men's singles, Radek Stepanek beat Tommy Robredo 6-3 6-2 6-1 to reach fourth round.
