Sixth person charged with Shakilus murder

A sixth teenager has been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Shakilus Townsend.

The 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named, will appear at Sutton Magistrates Court on Monday.

Shakilus was beaten with a baseball bat and stabbed in an attack in Thornton Heath, south London, last Thursday. He died the next day.

On Thursday and Friday, five teenagers aged 15 to 18 appeared in court charged with the boy's murder.

All were remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey in October.
