Terry shows support for Grant
Chelsea captain John Terry insists manager Avram Grant should keep his job even if he does not win a trophy this season.
Earlier this year, Grant admitted he could be sacked unless Chelsea win the Premier League or Champions League.
Even if Chelsea win a trophy, Grant is widely expected to lose his job but Terry has shown support for his boss.
He said: "To get to where we are and still question the manager's role at the club is unbelievable.
"I would have thought it is enough to keep the manager in his job. Results don't lie.
"You look at the Premier League table since the manager has taken over and they have been very good."
Terry has also praised Grant's coaching staff for keeping the club in with a chance of winning major trophies despite the sacking of Jose Mourinho earlier this season.
Terry added: "Avram plays a massive part along with the players, Steve Clarke, Henk ten Cate, the fans and everyone at the club.
"It is a credit to ourselves and the way we have dealt with things this year because at times it has not been easy.
"I think he deserves respect and rightly so. It is the first time in the club's history we have got to a Champions League final, it has never been done by any manager or set of players before and he does deserve it."
Meanwhile, Chelsea winger Joe Cole has warned his team-mates not to get carried away with their place in the Champions League final.
Cole insists the players will only have reason to celebrate if they clinch a major prize.
He said: "We haven't won anything yet. We are all happy and it is an historic moment but we have not won anything yet and silverware is what counts.
"All season everyone has played their part, we have had a lot of injuries at key times."
