Fulham pulled into relegation battle
Fulham were dragged into the fight against relegation after a 3-1 loss at home to Manchester City.
Manchester City look to have ended any fears of relegation after goals from Joey Barton, DaMarcus Beasley, and Darius Vassell helped them to victory. Fulham's only goal came from American Carlos Bocanegra.
Wigan held on for a valuable point at Aston Villa after playing most of the game with only ten men.
Emile Heskey gave the Latics an early lead, but following Antonio Valencia's sending off for a terrible tackle, Gabriel Agbonlahor equalised for Villa, who were unlucky not to find a winning goal.
Arsenal ended their losing streak with a goalless draw at Newcastle. In a game of few chances Nolberto Solano made a spectacular goal-line clearance from Julio Baptista in the game's best moment.
Bolton failed to take advantage of Arsenal's draw as they were held 1-1 at home to Everton. Kevin Davies gave the Trotters a first half lead after comical defending from Everton, but teenager James Vaughan equalised for the Toffeemen to earn a point.
Bottom club Watford boosted their slim chances of escaping the drop as a Hameur Bouazza brace helped them to a convincing 4-2 victory over Portsmouth.
