Identical twins Sam and Amanda have become the first contestants to enter the all-girl Big Brother house.

Crowds cheered the two blonde students, from Newcastle, into the house and the pair have told any male contestants to, 'watch out'.

All the contestants who went into reality TV's most famous home on Wednesday were women, with the oldest being 60.

Second in was 60-year-old former Cambridge don Lesley who described herself as "eccentric" and "unpredictable" and claimed she had a good chance of winning the show.

The fourth contestant was 21-year-old Charley, the cousin of Manchester United star Kieran Richardson and following her in was "hippy raver" Tracey, a 36-year-old cleaner.

Then, Chanelle, 19, who is apparently "obsessed" with Victoria Beckham, entered the house and after her was Shabnam, a 22-year-old temp who wants to travel the world.

Next in was 19-year-old Emily, who gives herself ten out of ten for intelligence and is a staunch Tory voter.

The tenth contestant was Laura, a 23-year-old nanny who dreams of owning her own funeral parlour, and soon afterwards she was joined by 27-year-old accounts executive Nicky.

Political protester, Carole, 53, was the final contestant into the BB house.

Channel 4 have also broadcast an apology over the Celebrity Big Brother race row.

Last week, the TV watchdog ruled the show breached its code of conduct.

Channel 4 said it will not profit from phone lines, following the controversy over its handling of a vote during Celebrity Big Brother.
