St Trinian's hits Cannes
The film revival of classic British comedy series St Trinian's arrived in Cannes over the weekend with the stars having a school disco party.
Rupert Everett, who plays Miss Camilla Fritton, admitted that Camilla Parker Bowles inspired his new role as the headmistress.
The 47-year-old actor said of the Duchess of Cornwall: "She's got a sense of humour. Likes a drink and cigarettes, she's my type of girl."
It also appears that Everett and his British co-star Colin Firth, 46, have got over their long-running public feud to star together in the new film.
Firth and Everett discovered a mutual dislike for each other on the set of the film Another Country in 1984, with Firth then calling Everett "ghastly" and Everett retorting by labelling him "boring".
But Everett speaking about working on the film with Firth, said: "We've had a lovely time working together on this. This time we have a slightly more sexual relationship, which we're both very happy about."
Firth added: "I thought I would probably never come to Cannes and the thought of coming back with him (Everett) was unthinkable.
"I seem to remember he refused to speak at the press conference in 1984. I think it was because I was there. We took a huge leap into friendship in the 18-year period... We had absolutely no respect for each other. We do now."
