US bands such as Rage Against The Machine and Metallica are set to dominate this year's Reading and Leeds Festival.

Queens of the Stone Age, The Killers and The Raconteurs are the other American acts in the line-up, along with British bands The Editors, Dirty Pretty Things and Babyshambles.

The festival will be held from August 22 to 24 at Richfield Avenue in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds.

Organiser Melvin Benn confirmed in January that three US bands would headline the event, but did not reveal their identities.

He said: "Interesting this year is that - probably for the first time, in my memory - we're actually going with three American headliners."

Tickets for the festival are currently on sale.
