Madonna makes Kabbalah pilgrimage to Israel
Madonna has followed her faith to Israel to attend a Kabbalah conference.
Famously known as the queen of pop, the star is more likely to be called by the less glamorous Hebrew name Esther on her special trip.
There is a week long schedule of events to mark the Jewish New Year, with many Kaballah followers flocking to the country to celebrate their faith.
Brought up a Roman Catholic, Madonna began practising the Jewish form of mysticism back in the 90s, long before it became a celebrity trend.
It is thought the 49-year-old will be taking time out to take in sites sacred to Kabbalists.
But her husband Guy Richie was noticeably absent from the event and was spotted soaking up the sun on a nearby beach.
Hollywood stars Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are also expected to attend the celebrations.
