Pampered pets check-in to luxury hotel

Pampered pooches can now be treated to the height of luxury at Cocoyoc Pet Hotel in Mexico.

The unique facility in the central state of Morelos, caters for everything from dogs and cats to birds, rabbits and ferrets.

The animals have the freedom to run around a lush semi-tropical garden, and to cool off they can take a dip in their own pool.

But if that's all too much for the spoilt pets, they can lay back and get spruced up in the grooming parlour.

Daniela Domiguez opened the hotel, which boasts a beautiful 16th century Hacienda, three years ago because she thought there was a lack of pet-worthy accommodation.

She said: "I once had the need for a service such as this one and it wasn't available. So, when I had the opportunity I thought about starting this business which is a concept so that dogs are comfortable and their owners at peace."

At night dogs get to sleep in their own spacious, ventilated rooms, and the hotel also plays chill-out music to help the pets relax.
