A combination of Russell Brand's eyes, Gordon Ramsay's nose and Vernon Kay's lips would make the friendliest face in Britain, researchers have revealed.

Images of the UK's friendliest male and female faces, combining the features of 14 different celebrities, were produced after a survey of 1,000 people in the UK found that people thought a friendly face was the most welcoming greeting.

Each face has seven key characteristics which epitomise friendliness - full lips, a square jaw, low-set eyebrows, magnetic eyes, a slightly rounded nose, a sloped-back forehead and rounded features

Naomi Tickle, a leading international personologist and face reader, worked with the Yorkshire Tourist Board to create the two composite, electronic images using computer software and the features of 14 TV presenters.

They revealed that Britain's friendliest male face was a combination of Vernon Kay's lips, George Alagiah's jaw, Steve Jones' eyebrows, Alastair Stewart's forehead, Gordon Ramsay's nose, Russell Brand's eyes and Eamonn Holmes' rounded features.

The female equivalent involved Kirsty Gallacher's lips, Romilly Weeks' jaw, Georgie Thompson's eyebrows, Mylene Klass' forehead, Claudia Winkleman's nose, Dannii Minogue's eyes and Charlotte Church's rounded features.
