Sven has Owen in his sights
Sven-Goran Eriksson reportedly wants to bolster his Manchester City side with England striker Michael Owen in the January transfer window.
The England star is apparently unsettled at St James' Park after reports of disagreements over his fitness.
Owen is set to play for England against Estonia at Wembley on Saturday, despite having an operation in Germany exactly two weeks ago.
A tabloid claims Eriksson is hoping to urge the City board to swoop for Owen, despite a possible £15 million price tag.
If Owen does leave the Magpies, it is thought Sam Allardyce will make a bid for Nicolas Anelka, who played for him at Bolton.
The move would certainly line Owen's pockets, with a possible £110,000-a-week deal likely.
