Windass brooding over Hull future
Hull boss Phil Brown has said he understands Dean Windass' frustration at being sidelined.
The veteran striker has spoken of his irritation at his limited involvement since the club won promotion to the Barclays Premier League.
The 39-year-old Hull-born player became a hero when he scored the winning goal in May's Coca-Cola Championship play-off final victory but he has made just one substitute appearance this season.
Brown is yet to discuss the matter with Windass but insists the player still has a part to play, even though he is now behind the likes of new signings Marlon King, Daniel Cousin and Geovanni in the pecking order.
Brown said: "He wants to play and he's no different from any other player at this football club.
"That kind of attitude I can't fault. At the end of the day the lad wants to play. He isn't playing. If he wants to do something about it it's entirely Dean Windass' call."
Brown has brought in 13 new players since the summer and he accepts he is going to have difficulties keeping all his squad happy.
He said Greek international and former Bolton Stelios Giannakopoulos will need "a couple of weeks on the training ground" before he is match-fit.
