Ex-Factor for Kate and Louis

The X Factor producers are looking for a new presenter and two judges to replace Kate Thornton and Louis Walsh.

Kate has been axed from the programme and Louis will be replaced on the judging panel by two new faces.

But Louis will still be involved in the programme as he will manage the acts off-screen.

Kate said: "Presenting The X Factor these last three years has been fantastic and I truly believe I have taken the show as far as I can.

"I wish the new host every success; it will be an experience they will never forget.

"I'm looking forward to getting stuck into some new programmes with ITV."

Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne will remain on the panel, but there will be four judges on the next series.

Louis said: "I will be having the busiest year of my career with Westlife, Shayne Ward and the re-launch of Boyzone.

"I am also looking forward to continuing my work with Simon and The X Factor team managing the stars from this year's series."

The X Factor has been involved in the recent investigation into premium-rate phone services.

Viewers were overcharged a total of £200,000 for votes cast during the last series, and the interactive system will only return when it has been checked.
