A Norwegian artist has built a thirty foot bridge made entirely from ice outside the UN building in New York.
Vebjorn Sand conceived the idea to highlight the harmful effects of climate change.
Vebjorn Sand conceived the idea to highlight the harmful effects of climate change
He said: "This is a piece of Antarctica standing outside the plaza of the UN.
"This one is intended to melt to show that Antarctica is melting. That's the clear and precise message of this project."
Following on from the recent Climate Conference in Bali, Mr Sand is hoping the bridge will keep climate change on America's conscience.
The artist built a similar bridge in Antartica last year, although that structure is still standing.
