Rapper Foxy Brown jailed in the US
Pregnant rapper Foxy Brown has been jailed in the US over violating the terms of her probation by hitting a woman with her BlackBerry.
Judge Melissa Jackson ordered that Brown - who told the court she is three months pregnant - remain in jail until her next hearing on September 7, at which time the judge could sentence her to spend up to a year in prison.
Last October, the 28-year-old hip-hop artist was sentenced to three years probation and anger management classes for assaulting two nail salon stylists over a £10 manicure.
At the time, Judge Jackson ordered Brown to undergo periodic drug testing, stay away from the manicurists for five years and get the court's approval before travelling.
On Wednesday, the judge found that Brown had travelled without the court's permission and had skipped her anger management class.
Earlier this month Brown was accused of bruising the eye and chipping the tooth of a Brooklyn woman with her Blackberry. She was freed on £2,493 bail.
Brown's albums include Ill Na Na and Chyna Doll, which went to number one in the US in 1999.
