Toddler injured in drive-by shooting

A man has been arrested after a two-year-old boy and his father were injured in a drive-by shooting.

The 47-year-old father is still in hospital, being treated for non-life threatening injuries, after the incident in Ricking Green, Essex, which took place at about 8.15am on July 31.

A 51-year-old man from Newmarket, Suffolk, has been arrested in connection with the attack

His son was also treated in hospital where he had pellets removed.

Police said the man was standing beside his Audi car waiting for his five-year-old daughter when the attack happened.

The shots were fired from the passenger side of a "mid to dark blue car, possibly a BMW", a police spokesman said.
