League could scupper Tevez's dream move
Carlos Tevez is keen on a "dream" move to champions Manchester United and has revealed that his ambition is to become 'an idol' in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old Argentina striker scored seven goals in ten games, including the crucial winner at Old Trafford on the final day of the Premiership season, to preserve West Ham United's top-flight status.
But the Premier League could look to block any move unless the Hammers receive the transfer fee as he remains contracted to the men from Upton Park for another three years.
The Red Devils are close to agreeing a two-year deal with an option to sign Tevez for a further two years, but the deal has to satisfy the League officials that Kia Joorabchian and his company Media Sports Investments are not being paid a transfer fee.
Tevez has been quoted as saying: "For me, Manchester United will be a sensational destination and to be a member of Sir Alex Ferguson's squad will be absolutely spectacular. My dream is to be an idol in English football and I can achieve this now."
A Premier League spokesman added: "As far as we are concerned any deal to take Carlos Tevez away from West Ham has to be done directly with the club."
