Murray win boosts clay confidence
Andy Murray is convinced his straight sets win over Jose Acasuso at the French Open has proved he can play on clay.
The Argentinian is familiar with clay courts, but Murray raced to a 6-4 6-0 6-4 to claim a place in the third round where he will face the highly-rated Spaniard Nicolas Almagro.
Murray said: "I put him in there with the top players on clay. I think he can play great.
"He's got a big serve, a big game. Doesn't move particularly well but he plays very aggressively and dominates the majority of his points.
"But I want to make the second week, that's my goal.
"I still feel I'm getting questioned as to why I'm not doing better. I wanted to show I can beat the top clay-court players. Acasuso might not be a Federer, Djokovic or Nadal but I went out and played great."
