McAvoy buffs up for Wanted

If Fight Club and The Matrix were your cup of tea, then you won't want to miss James McAvoy's latest movie, Wanted.

Following breakthrough roles in a pair of award-winning dramas - The Last King of Scotland and Atonement - the Scottish actor has burst onto Hollywood's blockbuster movie scene.

The 29-year-old portrays a buff assassin in the high-tech action thriller and said: "I got to satisfy the 16-year-old boy's yearning to break things and jump up and down and beat people up.

"It was a very physical film and I had to get fit and go to the gym, which I don't really enjoy."

While wallowing in the misery of a desk-bound job, an overbearing boss and a cheating girlfriend, McAvoy's character Wesley comes face-to-face with Angelina Jolie, who informs his that his life is about to be turned upside down.

McAvoy added: "I hope my next movie is not an action movie, but equally I hope it is not another Atonement."

He has now finished filming The Last Station in which he plays the secretary of Russian writer Leo Tolstoy.
