Baggies reach play-off final
West Bromwich Albion clinched a place in the Championship play-off final with a 1-0 win over local rivals Wolves.
Former Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips scored the only goal of the second leg at the Hawthorns, sealing a 4-2 aggregate victory to set up a meeting with Derby County at Wembley.
The Baggies have now won four games in a row, including both legs of the play-off semi-final, and look the form team going into the final, which will be held on May 28.
Derby have only clinched three victories from their last eight games, despite being involved in the battle for automatic promotion.
Sunderland and Birmingham City have already clinched their places in the Premier League for next season, and if the Baggies win the play-off final, it will be the first time the three teams relegated from the top flight have bounced straight back.
All three clubs were sent down a year ago, while Derby boss Billy Davies has suffered play-off disappointment in each of the last two seasons with Preston.
