Hundreds of fans have gathered in New York to see the unveiling of a giant Batman movie logo.

Batman: The Dark Knight starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger isn't out until next week but some people were so excited they took part in a Batman treasure hunt.

Over 300 people were given pizza boxes that contained clues, leading them to a huge projection of the caped crusaders symbol - the Bat Signal - displayed on a building in Manhattan.

The film is the follow up to the action hit, Batman Begins, and follows the story of Batman as he tries to wipe out organised crime in Gotham City for good.

Ledger, who plays The Joker in the movie, died in January from an accidental drug overdose.
