Roy's keen on Mido
Sunderland manager Roy Keane has made a bid for Tottenham striker Mido.
The Egypt international was expected to join Birmingham City for £6 million but the deal fell through and Blues boss Steve Bruce blamed the player's insistence on contract clauses.
Keane said: "We have made an offer to Spurs for Mido. He is a player I would like to speak to and to bring to this club.
"Trying to get these sort of quality players is a challenge, but all I want is the opportunity to speak to the lad. If it doesn't work out then we will move on."
Meanwhile, reports claim Keane has held talks with Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
It is claimed two Sunderland and Aston Villa have been given permission to speak to the Scotland international.
