Portsmouth have Europe on their minds as Harry Redknapp plots the downfall of Sven-Goran Eriksson's Manchester City at Fratton Park.

Pompey have picked up 22 points from their opening 12 games this season and sit fifth in the Premier League table, three points and two places adrift of City.

"We have to believe, that is why we are here, and our belief is this year we can definitely reach Europe" - Niko Kranjcar

And Croatia midfielder Niko Kranjcar has ravealed that Redknapp's squad have high hopes having made an impressive start to the campaign.

He told reporters: "We have to believe, that is why we are here, and our belief is this year we can definitely reach Europe.

"It is what we are aiming for, where we as a team want to arrive. We are unbeaten in seven league games - that shows we do have the ability and the quality to get that far. Now it is up to us to make sure it happens."

Since their 3-1 defeat at Arsenal at the start of September, Portsmouth have picked up 17 points out of 21, including a 7-4 win over Reading and a 4-1 victory at Newcastle United last weekend.
