Ricky Hatton believes he landed one of his best ever punches as he beat Jose Luis Castillo in four rounds in Las Vegas.

The 'Hitman' swung a powerful shot into Castillo's ribs, forcing the former lightweight champion to drop onto one knee and he was counted out.

"I have got him with one of the best shots I have ever thrown" - Ricky Hatton

Hatton said: "I think I've definitely proved the fat man is back. I hit him with a left and then another left and it just about cut him in half.

"I was going for the body from the first round and I've got him with one of the best shots I've ever thrown.

"It was a big shot in the first round and I know he winced. I went for the body time and again after that although I should have shown a bit more caution."

Hatton claimed the IBO Light Welterweight title by flooring Castillo and he could now face the unbeaten welterweight Floyd Mayweather.
