Sugababe 'arrested over brawl'

Sugababes star Amelle Berrabah has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of assault.

According to newspaper reports, the 23-year-old singer was taken to Guildford Police Station, Surrey, after a brawl on the dancefloor at the Bar Met on Saturday night. The alleged victim is an 18-year-old woman.

Miss Berrabah is reported to have given a statement about the alleged incident at 7am yesterday, before joining bandmates Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range on a flight to America, a newspaper claims.

A Sugababes' spokeswoman is quoted as saying: "There was an incident on Saturday night and Amelle is helping police with their inquiries. I can't say more than that because she is on a flight to LA."

Surrey Police said: "A 23-year-old female was arrested in Guildford town centre following an incident in a bar.

"She has been released on police bail pending further inquiries."

It was recently announced that the band are launching a Barbie collection which will be available in UK toy stores in May.
