Latifah becomes eco-warrior
The multifaceted Queen Latifah is taking on climate change in her next role.
Fresh from the success of Hairspray, the academy-award nominated actress and musician is adopting the role of eco-campaigner.
She is narrating the documentary Arctic Tale which was created by the same people as the popular March of the Penguins and follows the lives of a polar bear and a walrus on their journey to maturity.
It illustrates the harsh realities of living in a polar climate.
Latifah said she hopes that by humanising animals the film is able to educate people - especially children - about the effects of climate change.
"I think when you go see a movie like this, when you get endeared to the characters and all the while you're seeing that their lives are affected by climate change."
